Moxifloxacin Hydrochloride 0.5% (5 mg/mL) is a fourth-generation fluoroquinolone antibiotic used as ophthalmic drops or ointment to treat bacterial eye infections, such as conjunctivitis. It works by inhibiting bacterial topoisomerase II (DNA gyrase) and IV, killing bacteria. It requires a prescription, with typical usage being 2–3 times daily.

Moxifloxacin is an antibiotic. It works by stopping the action of a bacterial enzyme called DNA-gyrase. This prevents the bacterial cells from dividing and repairing, thereby killing them.
