This product is a WHO-recommended Oral Rehydration Salt (ORS) (or similar formula) used to treat or prevent dehydration caused by diarrhea, vomiting, or excessive sweating. It replenishes lost fluids and electrolytes (sodium, potassium, chloride) and provides quick energy via dextrose.

This Oral Rehydration Salt (ORS) formula works by using the sodium-glucose co-transport mechanism in the small intestine to rapidly absorb water and electrolytes. Dextrose facilitates sodium/water absorption, while potassium and sodium citrate replace lost electrolytes and correct acidosis, effectively treating dehydration from diarrhea or vomiting.
